I grew up sleeping under the stars. While gazing in awe upon the glittering night sky, I would ask my mother many questions …
- Who made these stars mum?
- How are they made?
- How many stars are in our sky?
These questions remained unanswered for the early years of my life. Little did I know back then, that many years later the answers to my questions would come from an unlikely source - through the words of Yeshu.
Nicodemus was a religious leader respected by the people of his day. He had learned about Yeshu’s teaching and miracles. He was not satisfied with his religious knowledge and practices and wanted to know more. He took a risk by meeting with Yeshu.
Listen carefully to Yeshu’s answer to Nicodemus as he explains what God our creator will do to bring us into a relationship with him and how deeply he cares about us.
Oh wow … There’s so much to understand in what Satguru Yeshu says to Nicodemus. Like Nicodemus, I was happy with my religious practices, but God was distant and impersonal for me. The thought that God would love me seemed very hard to believe. All that changed when I fully understood the words Yeshu spoke to Nicodemus. Let me show you …
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:6-8
Just as a newborn baby experiences a new world, God is inviting us to experience a new life. I experienced this new birth that led me to my personal relationship with God.
16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
So in these words we find that our Creator, the one who made the stars, loves us! In fact he loves us so much that he sent his only son, Yeshu, into the world to rebuild our broken relationship and to offer us eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. John 3:17-18
Just like in my experience, you too can experience a personal relationship with your Creator. My renewed relationship with God has assured me that I’ll no longer be condemned. You can also have this same certainty and peace.
19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” John 3:19-21
When the light of Yeshu came into my life, I realised that by nature I am a paapi (पापी). I feared that one day my Creator would expose my life to others. My question was … Who would lead me from the world of unreal to the real (truth), from ignorance to knowledge, from death to everlasting life and peace?
Questions
Our ancient Vedas also pondered these same questions.
In Hindi it is written like this:- असतो मा सद्गमय (Lead me from falsehood to truth)
- तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय (Lead me from darkness to light)
- मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय (Lead me from death to life)
This is one of the most famous slokas in India. Have you ever longed to find answers to these?
- Have you ever felt that your Creator loves you and cares for you?
- Would you like to know him?
