When I was about ten years old, I had a very vivid dream. In my dream I woke up screaming Howzat!!! My mother knew that I was dreaming about my cricket match earlier that day. “My son”, she said, “The game is over. Go back to sleep.” Years later, God brought back to me this dream to teach me an important truth.
I remember how I used to fetch the water from our local well as a child. Watch how Yeshu speaks to this woman as she visits the well just like I did. Unlike most women, she came in the middle of the day. Some think this was to avoid the other women in her village because of her bad life. Listen to how Yeshu gives her a new hope.
One day I was reading these words …
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.” John 4:24-26
I did not understand how we as human beings can worship God this way. I really wanted to know the answer to this question. Like a child asking a question to his mother, I asked God, “Can you please explain this?” Then suddenly, I was reminded of my childhood dream. In that moment of screaming, my mind and spirit was reliving the game. God showed that he wanted me to be continually engaged with his truths and his Spirit - just as I was in my dream!
The gift of God is a new birth that he offers to all who seek him. I too found this new birth as I reflected on the story of the woman who met Yeshu at a well. Yeshu offered her “living water” and in finding it, her deep thirst for God was satisfied.

Final thoughts
This woman had many broken relationships. This tells us she had a deep dissatisfaction with life. Even though she had a bad reputation in her village, Yeshu understood her and accepted her.
In our journey, we will see how even the worst moments from our past can be forgiven, washed away and cleaned from us.
