In my journey to discover the truth of Yeshu, I found that my pride often got in the way. I could not see that my soul was living in darkness. I couldn’t understand why any god would love me. This seemed so different to the gods I learned about growing up.
But once I humbled myself, God’s light pierced through my soul and revealed his true holiness and love for me. I could also finally see our true nature and the reason why Yeshu came to rescue us. I knew a new peace and a deep inner joy. Discovering the truths of Yeshu had set me free. I could see how blind I was in the past.
A Prediction fulfilled
Over 700 years before Yeshu came to earth as a child, these words were written by the prophet Isaiah. Isaiah foretold about a “Messiah” who would come. The word Messiah comes from the Hebrew word מָשִׁיחַ (Mashiach), which means “anointed one.” It refers to someone consecrated for a specific role or purpose.
3 He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:3-4
The Jewish leaders felt threatened by Yeshuji’s teachings and saw his claim to be the Son of God as blasphemy. They brought him before the Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, accusing him of claiming to be a king. But Yeshu was not a king in the way they understood it!
In this next video, we see the beginning of the prediction of Isaiah. In this dramatic moment in Yeshu’s life, he revealed his true purpose - to rescue us!
Questions
The religious leaders at the time of Yeshu wanted a sinful murderer like Barabbas to be set free instead of Yeshu. Their pride and traditions prevented them from seeing who he really was.
- Can you think of any moment during this week where your pride may have gotten in the way of facing an important truth?
Final Thoughts
Many times I wondered if all the offerings I’d given to the gods would be enough? I found that we no longer need to pay homage by making offerings. Because, as we will see, a sacrifice has been made for us. God shows his deep love for us by making a great sacrifice for us which pays for our paapa, opening the way to Moksha for us.
In the next step, we will see how costly and difficult this sacrifice is.
