Do you know a true Guruji?
What do you think they must be like?
A true guruji must …
… always lead you from darkness to light. He must cast out the darkness from your mind and soul and give you light, because the word “guru” means one who leads from darkness to light. Would you agree? He must have shown that he is God in human form and he should have miraculous powers. He shouldn’t be taking money or all about prosperity. Perhaps you know of wealthy gurus who have misled people. He shouldn’t be just pleasing people and giving them what they want to hear. He should challenge us and make us think. He shouldn’t be married or have secret girlfriends. He should show the right respect for women and be celibate, a Brahmachari. He also must be a man of peace, advocating non-violence.
Not many gurus can fulfil these requirements of a true holy man. If you’ve been following our journey you’ll have seen that Yeshu fulfills all these.
He must teach us how to live an honourable life …
Yeshu cared for the poor and was fiercely opposed to corruption. He taught us to forgive and love our enemies and many other deep truths. We’ve discovered that Yeshu’s “Sermon on the Mount” inspired Mahatma Gandhiji to advocate for non-violence. A message that impacted a nation and ultimately resulted in freedom. He is deeply concerned about all our needs. We’ve discovered that Yeshu’s like a Good Shepherd who cares for his sheep.
He performed many miracles …
He opened a blind man’s eyes so he could see. This man had been born blind. He healed a man who was lame. He told him to pick up his bed and walk and immediately he walked! He multiplied a child’s lunch to feed 5,000 people. They gathered 12 baskets of leftover food. He even raised a dead man back to life. He was obviously very dead because he’d started to decay as he had been dead for four days. He calmed a wild storm while in a boat at sea. This showed he had authority over nature itself! He cast out demons from a demon possessed man, showing he had power over evil spirits. He revealed his God-like power and glory, being transformed in the presence of his close devotees so they could be certain of his divinity.
His coming was foretold …
From ancient times many people looked forward to the day when an Avatar (or “Messiah”) would come to save them. This was because his coming to earth was precisely foretold by many prophets hundreds of years before he came. Archeologists have early manuscripts from these prophets that were written several centuries before his birth.
